It’s official! The 2nd annual Santa Clarita Wine Fest has been announced. We are happy to report the latest news here for all you SoCal wine enthusiasts who are looking forward to another round of this great event.

A new charitable cause has also been chosen for this year. The Michael Hoefflin Foundation will be profiting from this years fundraising. Another local charity, the Michael Hoefflin Foundation is a non-profit focused on providing support for those affected by children’s cancer. Families and children in Santa Clarita and surrounding valleys can benefit from a variety of support services offered by the Foundation. The foundation also spends time reaching out to the public to increase awareness of child cancer as well as doing medical research to help find cures and mitigation therapies.

It looks like the information we found last year suggesting that Dr. Joel Fischer would be continuing the event at the same location was incorrect- The 2012 event will be held at The BridgePort Market Place. The event has grown from last year, as expected, and will feature 125 wineries from multiple wine regions. Much like last year, wine won’t be the only beverage to choose from. You will also have the choice of fine beer, sake, and liquor throughout the event. Vendors were on hand last year doing custom engraved wine glasses and wine bottles. We have yet to hear if they will be back and if any other vendors will be participating in the event, such as local wine tour guides, wine cooler, or wine glass makers.

You can of course look forward to great musical acts and educational opportunities. Much like last year, classes will be available on a variety of consumables- Including wine, sake, and spirits. Industry experts, yet to be announced, will be leading instructions. If last year is any indication as to the quality of masters that this event can bring, we have a lot to look forward to. Probably the most exciting event of the festival will be the VIP party, which will feature wines hand chosen by Dr. Joel Fischer along with small plate dining.

And of course, we have to give credit to the group of people bringing this event to life. This list comes directly off their recent press release.
